Registration is now open for the 2022 Endorse the Vote (PTV) method by means of the Secretary of State’s business office.
This year’s theme for Advertise the Vote is “Why Vote?” which is aimed at encouraging pupils to look at the value of voting in relation to their beliefs and values.
You can sign-up on the internet at www.sos.ms.gov/PTV.
PTV is the Secretary of State’s comprehensive K-12 voter instruction plan that is composed of a statewide mock election, an essay, art, and movie production contests.
“Our small children are the most beneficial useful resource we have and through the determination of Mississippi teachers to utilize PTV in the classroom, we are ready to begin educating our youngest era of voters on civic engagement and accountability,” explained Secretary of State Michael Watson.
The PTV Mock Election is open up to all college students who are enrolled in a Mississippi faculty or program registered for Encourage the Vote. Pupils will “vote” for their mid-term election candidates during a statewide mock election on Wednesday, Oct 26.
The system is partnering with Mississippi Community Wide Broadcasting’s Instruction Department for a social media contest for all collaborating educational institutions. The details can also be found on the SOS web-site.
All K-12 students can also take part in an artwork contest as well as an essay and video clip production contest for people grades 6-12 in conjunction with the PTV.
All contest winners and their instructors will be invited to show up at an awards ceremony in Jackson in early 2023.
Any person wishing to take part in our PTV software will have to sign up on the internet. If you have any queries or will need aid registering for the mock election or PTV contests, be sure to call our Exterior Affairs Division at [email protected] or 601-359-4454.
